Introduction
CIRCA’s research projects extend the collective’s philosophical inquiry through interdisciplinary and critical programmes.
Each explores the relationship between perception, design, and knowledge, through two complementary approaches:
– ArCANE, a research programme on architectural cognition and spatial empathy;
– NeurA-MAP, a critical observatory of neuroarchitecture and neurodesign.
Cross perspectives
Together, ArCANE and NeurA-AMAP articulate the two faces of CIRCA’s philosophy:
one explores how architecture enables cognition;
the other examines how cognition is used to interpret architecture.
Their dialogue defines the horizon of a critical philosophy of architectural cognition — reflective, interdisciplinary, and deeply embodied.
